Connected Car Services enables dealerships to view the last recorded GPS position of their vehicles in Dealerware Web. Vehicle GPS positions can be viewed:
- On the Dashboard Map
- In the Location & Event History section of the Vehicle Details drawer
Navigate the Dashboard Map
- By default, the Dashboard Map will be on Fleet Map, zoomed out to show the location of your entire fleet.
- If you want to focus in on the vehicles that are located on your dealership lot, select the Lot Map option at the top of the map card.
- Vehicles in all statuses will display on the map. Rented vehicles will display as long as you have the correct employee permission to View Vehicle Position During Contracts and that setting to View Vehicle Position During Contracts is toggled on for the vehicle's Program.
- To view vehicles in a specific status, select the Status filter on the top right side of the map card.
- Rented vehicles are represented by a green dot on the map. Hovering over the dot will display additional information about the vehicle, including the year, make, and model; stock number, vehicle status, customer name, fuel, odometer, and either the timestamp of the last position update or a note saying the vehicle is parked.
- Available vehicles are represented by a blue dot on the map. Hovering over the dot will display additional information about the vehicle, including the year, make, and model; stock number, vehicle status, fuel, odometer, and either the timestamp of the last position update or a note saying the vehicle is parked.
- Selecting a dot will open that vehicle's detail drawer.
Access the Location & Event History section in Vehicle Details
- Selecting the stock number or the license plate from the Vehicles page, Contracts page, or alerts on the dashboard will open the Vehicle Details drawer. You can also select the vehicle's dot on the Dashboard Map.
- Just under the main vehicle details, there will be a section called Location & Event History. Selecting the chevron > icon will expand the section.
- The last logged vehicle location will display on the map as a car icon in a circular marker. If the vehicle is off lot without a contract, the circular marker will include a warning icon instead of a car icon.
- While the Vehicle Details drawer is open, the vehicle location won't automatically update. To see the most recent location, select the words "See Last Position" located above the map.
- To see historic locations for the vehicle, select the corresponding telematics event under the map.
- You can download a CSV file of the telematics events for that vehicle with their corresponding longitude and latitude by selecting the word "Download."
