Overview
When adding a new customer, Dealerware Mobile's Driver's License scanner detects when a customer has an existing profile and links you to that profile to help you avoid duplicate profile creation. You may choose to create a new profile as needed.
*Customer profiles can be edited but not removed from Dealerware Mobile or Dealerware Web.
Add a new Customer
- Select Create New Customer
- Scan the barcode on the back of the customer's driver's license or manually enter driver's license information
- Add the customer’s mobile phone number (Customers in the United States will receive their Customer Agreement via text message)
- Add the customer’s email address (optional in the United States, mandatory in Canada — Customers in Canada will receive their Customer Agreement via email)
- Select Save
- Verify the driver’s license information then select Save
Add the Customer’s Payment Method
Overview
Dealerware Mobile’s scanning feature alerts you when scanning a driver’s license associated with an existing customer profile to avoid creating duplicate profiles. You can manually search for a customer instead to determine if their profile already exists.
*You can modify a customer profile but cannot delete it from Dealerware Mobile or Web.
Create a New Customer Profile
Add Driver’s License & Personal Details
- Select Customers from the main navigation
- Select Create New Customer
- Scan the driver’s license barcode or manually enter the information (Dealerware will alert you if a profile already exists)
- Add the customer’s mobile phone number (US customers will receive their Customer Agreement via text message)
- Add the customer’s email address (Optional in the US, mandatory in Canada. Canadian customers will receive their Customer Agreement via email)
- Select Save
Add a Payment Method
- After adding the customer’s personal information, Dealerware will direct you to the Add Payment screen
- Select “Scan Card” to scan the customer’s credit or debit card and capture name, card number, expiration date, and CVV
- Manually enter the billing Zip Code
- Select Save
*Dealerware is PCI Compliant, therefore your customer’s information is secure and won’t be stored on the device.
Add Insurance Information
- After adding the customer’s payment method, Dealerware will direct you to the Insurance screen
- Enter the insurance policy’s expiration date
- Select Take Photo to capture a photo of the customer’s insurance information
- Select Use Photo
- Select Save
Add Employer Information (optional)

- Select Employer Info (optional) from the customer profile
- Enter the Employer Name and Employer Phone (required)
- Enter Employer Address (optional)
- Select Save
