Click Start Contract, and the contract starts
If you set the actual start time to the future
Click Start Contract, and the contract starts
If you set the actual start date or time to the past
If you have the Edit Contracts permission
A Reason box appears and is required
Click Start Contract, and the contract starts
If you don't have the Edit Contracts permission
A warning message appears, explaining that you don't have the required permissions to backdate contracts and directs you to contact an Admin or edit the date/time.
You are unable to start the contract (you will be unable to click the button)
Important information regarding the backdating of contracts:
The definition of "Past" is granular down to the current minute and allows a 2-hour grace period. During the grace period, even if you don't have the Edit Contracts permission, you can still start the contract. A reason won't be required.
You can backdate a contract up to 14 days in the past.
To backdate a contract, you must have the Edit Contracts permission on your employee profile. Learn more about editing user permissions here: Updating a User's Permissions
