Overview
You can configure a Credit Card Hold to authorize and hold funds on a customer’s credit card during the Start-contract workflow in the amount of an Estimated Charge or a Security Deposit.
Holds will apply to all vehicles within the configured Program and the associated contracts. You must have the Admin permission enabled to configure billing settings.
Configure a Credit Card Hold:
- Select Settings > Programs from the main navigation
- Locate the applicable Program, then select the pencil icon next to its name
- In Cost Recovery Settings, navigate to Credit Card Hold
- Select Estimated Charge and/or Security Deposit
- Select Save
If you select both a security deposit and an estimated charge- the credit card hold applied will be the total amount of the security deposit + the estimated charge.
- Example: Estimated charges are $10, and security deposit is $100, the hold will be for $110.
*Estimated Charge = a hold based on the number of Contract Days x Daily Rate + Additional Charges.
*Security Deposit = a hold in the amount configured.
To remove a Credit Card Hold:
- Navigate to Settings > Programs > Cost Recovery Settings > Credit Card Hold
- Uncheck all credit card hold options
- Select Save
