Configure Off-Lot & Custom Geofences
Learn about Off-lot Detection
Off-lot detection identifies non-contracted vehicles (not in rented status) that have exited the defined off-lot geofence. A location can only have one Off Lot rule and the option to add one will only be available if the location doesn’t already have an existing rule in place.
Create an Off-lot Geofence
- Select Settings > Alerts and Notifications
- Scroll to Vehicle Location Alerts
- Select Add Off Lot
- Select Geofence Type, and choose from the Radius or Polygon options.
- After choosing the Geofence Type, configure the geofence area
- If a default Off-Lot radius of 0.25 miles is in effect, you can update this as needed.
- To change the default radius, update the Geofence Radius measurement
- Select Save
*To update an existing off-lot geofence rule, open the rule, edit your configurations, and save your changes.
Learn about Custom Geofences
Create a custom geofence to notify users when a vehicle exits or enters a designated travel area. Dealerware offers the following custom geofence options: Radius (by mile), Polygon, State Border. There is no limit to the number of custom geofence rules you can create.
Based on the rules you configure, in-app and employee SMS alerts occur when vehicles enter or exit the defined geofence area (travel area).
Create a Custom Geofence Rule
- Select Settings > Alerts and Notifications
- Scroll to Vehicle Location Alerts
- Select Add Geofence
- Add a geofence Name (San Diego City Limits)
- Select any vehicle statuses that trigger the geofence alert: Rented etc.
- Select when alerts trigger: Vehicle Enters, Vehicle Exits
- Select Geofence Type
- Based on your selection, configure the radius by mile, use the map to create a polygon, or select the applicable state.
- Select Save
*To update an existing custom geofence rule, open the rule, edit your configurations, and save your changes.
