Auto de-fleet helps Volkswagen dealers manage their Courtesy Vehicle Program vehicles more consistently.
When a vehicle is removed from courtesy or loaner status in Volkswagen’s system, Dealerware will recognize that update and automatically move the vehicle to a Disposed status when Volkswagen indicates it is no longer in the Courtesy Vehicle Program.
Because this timing is driven by Volkswagen’s system, vehicles will not appear on a countdown or scheduled de-fleet list in Dealerware ahead of time.
A few important things to know:
When a vehicle is removed from courtesy or loaner status in Volkswagen’s system, Dealerware will recognize that update and automatically move the vehicle to a Disposed status when Volkswagen indicates it is no longer in the Courtesy Vehicle Program.

A few important things to know:
- If a vehicle is currently rented, Dealerware will wait until it is returned before completing the dispose/de-fleet action.
- Vehicles in maintenance or hard hold are still eligible for auto de-fleet.
- If a vehicle was de-fleeted but should remain active in your fleet, your team can reactivate it in Dealerware by changing the vehicle status in Vehicle Details. You should also confirm the vehicle is still designated appropriately in Volkswagen’s system as a courtesy vehicle.
- The license plate and toll barcode (if applicable) will still appear on the Vehicle Details for the disposed vehicle. If you subscribe to Dealerware's Toll Services, we recommend auditing your disposed vehicles regularly to remove the license plate and toll barcode from Vehicle Details. You also need to deactivate the toll barcode if you don't intend on using it in another vehicle. Learn more here.
